Lab Locations

Located in Houston, TX, our world class Corporate Technology Center focuses on research and development of products, systems and technologies, product QA/QC, technical support, engineering applications, and technical training of staff and customers. The 12,000 square foot CTC serves as a training center to conduct mud schools, and houses a mud lab, training lab, a dedicated HTHP lab, and an analytical lab, providing support to global operations.

Corporate policies, operating models, and standard procedures are used company-wide for consistent high-quality service to our clients. New technology development, operations support and client services are coordinated at the regional and corporate level to facilitate the best results in a timely manner. QMax R&D and Technology works diligently to bring new technologies to the market and provide optimum solutions that benefit our clients.

MAXSITE Engineering Software



Our engineering software team is focused on developing the latest state-of-the-art technologies and creating software programs, including the MAXSITE suite of applications. The MAXSITE suite is designed to improve well construction operations, including everything from drilling hydraulics to rig site inventory management, and assist QMax field and office-base personnel to provide enhanced service to our clients.

MAXSITE Hydraulics

The MAXSITE Hydraulics (MSH) application developed by QMAX Solutions is based on a solid foundation of sound engineering principles and fundamental physical models. Hydraulics is a key component of drilling and completion fluids management in critical HTHP and deepwater wells, as well as in most other types of conventional land and extended-reach wells. The proprietary application developed in-house combines practical drilling fluid considerations with fluid flow modeling. It relies heavily on leveraging the effect of downhole temperature and pressure on density and rheology to deliver state-of-the-art modeling and simulation capabilities to our in-house and field engineers.

MAXSITE Reporter

The MAXSITE Reporter (MSR) fluids data management system provides wellsite engineers with a comprehensive system to document daily services and summarize project results. MSR utilizes the same hydraulics models as MSH, and generates comparable results with minimal additional inputs at the wellsite. It includes standardized calculations, plan vs actual mud properties tracking and other KPIs, performs wellsite inventory management and billing system integrations, and is also used to create end-of-well summary recaps. Data collected at wellsite is synchronized with global databases for office-based monitoring and dashboard generation.


The MAXSITE QSeal application allows users to design the optimum particle size distribution of Loss Prevention Material to formulate a minimally and non-damaging fluid. To create the optimized fluid formulation, users have the ability to choose from one of the four-optimization models: Abrams, Ideal Packing Theory, Fractal, and Vickers. Currently, QSeal is the only software application in the industry that allows the user to choose from all four models, and also incorporates the native and drill solids available in the drilling fluid to determine optimum product blends.


The MAXSITE ToolBox is a suite of commonly used mud and drilling engineering calculations useful in daily operations. The mobile-based application platform is for internal use and is available for iOS, Android, and Windows platforms.


The MAXSITE Query is a web-based system to leverage the power of the global database collected on every single drilling fluids project from our MAXSITE Reporter application. The standardized global database provides powerful search and download functionalities. It allows office-based personnel to follow well and fluids performance on a daily basis by mirroring the wellsite data. Powerful and insightful dashboards provide global or local window into drilling fluid operations, and allows well-to-well comparison of KPI and drilling fluid properties and trend analysis.
