Our Executive Leadership
Christopher Rivers (Chairman) has over 40 years of related industry
experience. Mr. Rivers became the non-executive Chairman of QMax in 2020 and was Chief Executive Officer of QMax from 2013 to 2020. Before becoming CEO, he served as a senior advisor to the Board of Directors. Mr. Rivers began his career in finance and accounting, at Smith International, McEvoy, Inc., and Kraft Frozen Foods, Ltd. He then worked for M-I SWACO, where for 16 years he held a variety of positions including Chief Financial Officer, Senior Vice President Middle East/Africa, Executive Vice President and ultimately the President and Chief Executive Officer.
Rafael Andres Diaz-Granados
President and CEO
Rafael Andres Diaz-Granados (President and CEO) joined QMax as an independent board member in 2019 and was appointed as QMax’s President and CEO in 2020. In addition to his roles at QMax, he runs Cetan, which is focused on leadership consulting and angel investing. From 2016 to 2018, he served as an independent board member for PREPA, Puerto Rico’s electric utility, as it navigated a multi-billion dollar bankruptcy and disaster recovery. Prior to that, Mr. Diaz-Granados transformed several General Electric business operations, serving as CRO for GE Healthcare and CEO of GE’s businesses in Mexico and Spain.
Vice President of Supply Chain
Veronica Brown (Vice President of Supply Chain) joined QMax in April 2015 and has 26 years of experience in the oil and gas industry. Prior to joining QMax, Ms. Brown spent 7 years working for BP, including five years managing the Fluids & Cementing Category in Deepwater Gulf of Mexico and at the global level. Ms. Brown also spent 14 years at Haliburton in supervisory and managerial roles within supply chain including category management, strategic sourcing, contract negotiations, inventory management, logistics and export compliance training. Ms. Brown earned an M.B.A. from Bellevue University and a B.S. in Business Administration from Universidad del Nuevo Mundo in Mexico City.
Celina L. Carter
Vice President, General Counsel, Chief Compliance Officer and Corporate Secretary
Celina L. Carter (Vice President, General Counsel, Chief Compliance Officer and Corporate Secretary) joined QMax in August 2014. Previously, Ms. Carter was the North American Counsel of M-I SWACO. Before that, she was an associate at Fulbright & Jaworski LLP. Mrs. Carter earned her J.D., magna cum laude from the Thurgood Marshall School of Law and her B.A. in Political Science from the University of Texas-Pan American.
Chief Financial Officer
Eric Glover (Chief Financial Officer) joined QMax in May 2020. Mr. Glover has 25-years of experience leading global companies of varying sizes, operating across multiple industries under public, private and private-equity backed ownerships structures. Most recently, Mr. Glover was President & CFO of Raben Tire Company, a former portfolio company of Palladium Equity Partners. Mr. Glover led Raben through a major turnaround and restructuring effort, culminating with the sale of the company to the Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company. Prior to Raben, Mr. Glover led a highly successful restructuring campaign for Heartland Automotive Services, the world’s largest Jiffy Lube operator with 400+ locations nationwide. Mr. Glover is a Certified Public Accountant and he holds an MBA from the University of Connecticut.
Chris Kostiuk (Country Manager) joined QMax in February 2015 and has over 22 years of related industry experience. Previously Mr. Kostiuk worked for DMK Drilling Fluids where he held numerous positions from Operations Manager to Sr. Vice President. Mr. Kostiuk has a strong Operational and leadership background from many years working in the drilling industry as a Rig Manager & Wellsite Supervisor.
Global IT Manager
Gilberto Ochoa (Global IT Manager) joined QMax in January 2004 and has over 23 years of oil and gas related industry experience, as well as over 5 years of experience in retail and distribution industry. Mr. Ochoa has overseen the implementation of multiple information systems focused on the optimization of the value chain processes. Prior to joining QMax, Mr. Ochoa worked in information technology at M-I SWACO in Mexico for 3 years. Mr. Ochoa earned a Master of Science degree in Information Systems Management from Universidad TecMilenio and B.S. in Computer Science from Instituto Tecnologico de Merida in Mexico.
VP of U.S. Operations
Christopher Pennington (VP of U.S. Operations) has 27 Years of oil and Gas Experience. In 1993, Mr. Pennington began his oilfield Career for Nabors Drilling Company, specializing in drilling operations and management in the Arkoma Basin. In 2001, an opportunity led Mr. Pennington to be involved in the drilling Fluid industry with Ozark Mud & Chemical Inc., and quickly became Operation/sales manager. Anchor Drilling Fluids acquired Ozark Mud & Chemical in 2006, Where he took a hands-on approach in learning all areas of the company and providing technical support to customers, creating sales & business development opportunities for over 100 operators in the US, directly influencing performance and efficiency as operations manager.
Vice President of Mexico, Latin America and Middle East
Guido Rivas (Vice President of Mexico, Latin America and Middle East) joined QMax in September 2015 and has over 33 years of related industry experience. Before joining QMax, Mr. Rivas served as CEO of OsComp Holdings and, before that; he spent 26 years with Schlumberger in various management and field assignments in several countries in Europe and the Americas. In addition to English, Mr. Rivas is fluent in Spanish, Portuguese and Italian. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from Universidad Simon Bolivar in Caracas, Venezuela and his M.B.A from Rice University.
